This PHECC accredited 36 hour course is recognised by the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council and covers subjects such as, emergency childbirth, oropharyngeal airways, O2 administration, vacuum splints, collars, spinal boards, helmet removal, administration of the following medications, Salbutamol for Asthma, EpiPen Epinephrine, Glycerine Tri Nitrate, Glucose paste and Aspirin. It also teaches all the basic life support skills for victims of stroke; cardiac arrest; heart attack; choking; and discusses legal issues for first responders.
EFR is a great stand-alone course for persons operating in a first responder role who require more than the more basic First Aid Response certificate, EFR is the national standard of first aid training for Fire Brigades in Ireland. EFR is a good stepping stone for those planning to pursue a career in emergency care as Fire Fighter or as an Emergency Medical Technicain (EMT) or Paramedic.
You must have a valid, in-date, Cardiac First Response (CFR) OR First Aid Response (FAR) certification prior to commencing this course.
